Nicole Mahar was appointed Assistant Commissioner, Regulatory Insight in August 2023. Prior to joining the NDIS Commission, Nicole worked for over five years in Markets and Providers at the National Disability Insurance Agency where she led initiatives to support collaboration with NDIS participants and providers to design, implement and evaluate new ways of delivering home and living supports, and design and test market interventions to address challenges in areas such as behaviour support and access to therapeutic services. Nicole is a registered Psychologist and holds a Masters Degree in Educational and Developmental Psychology. Prior to joining the public service Nicole worked for over 15 years in the not for profit disability sector. Nicole has led community based therapeutic service development, delivery and evaluation for children and young people with developmental delays and disabilities and their families, and contributed to leading Australian research to support evidence-based practices in early childhood intervention.
